Tales from the unemployed

So it is almost the end of January and my luck in employment has been pretty sour. I was hoping to hear back from a couple companies I applied for but I keep hearing from companies I never heard of. I have been applying for various Marketing jobs at General Mills, Verizon Wireless, INNOVA Marketing, etc. in Minneapolis.
In between applying for jobs I have been volunteering my time for various tasks. My best friend Debbie and her sister Genevieve has been going up to the Garment District once a week to buy articles to make costumes for the Dance Dynamics competition team. I have been having a blast going on the shopping trips too. I recommend everyone to check out the Fashion District in Los Angeles. They have beautiful articles of clothing at a better price than in a retail store. We were able to find all kinds of Bridesmaid gowns cheap!
Debbie also got us tickets to go on the Dr. Phil show next week so we are extra excited!
In addition to shopping ,I have been volunteering for the Miss Valley Center Pageant Association. Most recently I have been responsible for recruitment. This year we were able to get eight Jr. Miss and four Miss Valley Center contestants. We are so excited! Practices have started twice a week so I have been lending a helping hand in addition to being responsible for getting their outfits for the sports wear. The themes this year is Valley Center Runway. We are hoping the event will look like a fashion show.
I have also volunteered at the High School to put together a presentation about life after VCHS and interviewing. I thought it was a great event. They invite graduates to talk about their experiences, have a representative from Kaplan talk about the different types of secondary school, FIDM talk about dressing the part, and a lady talk about credit and finances. I must admit they have this program now because I wish they had it when I was in school.
Last, my friend Anamarie is having a baby so I am being a good friend. We have been trying to scrapbook once a week to make Temperance Ann’s(that’s her name) an album. I figure Anamarie will be so busy once she is here so we should create it before she arrives. Recently, the girls (Aubree, Amanda, and I) went to help her register. I can’t believe how much stuff there is for kids these days. I am also blown away by how expensive everything can be.
In conclusion, my birthday is coming up next week and I will be hitting the 2-4. I am one year away from being ¼ of a century. Right now everything is very ambiguous but I am looking for clarity to form in the upcoming months.
